Within the scope of the SUSTAIN EU Project, a lecture titled “Sustainability and Inclusion in Early Childhood” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Dere, a faculty member of the Department of Child Development at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ege University Ödemiş. The lecture was conducted as part of an undergraduate course.
During the presentation, the importance of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in early childhood education was emphasized, along with the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability. The lecture also highlighted how inclusive education practices contribute to children’s development. Furthermore, the significance of fostering environmental awareness, social responsibility, empathy, and cooperation skills from an early age was underlined as a key factor in building a sustainable and inclusive education system.
